Top Tips for Addition Questions
Addition means to calculate the total of two or more numbers. Adding a number to another number always gives a larger answer than the number you started with.
When reading Maths questions, look out for words such as 'add', 'total', 'increase', 'in all', 'together' and 'more than'. These words indicate you need to use your addition skills!
Write the largest number first then put the smaller number(s) underneath. This will help you identify the place value of all the numbers.
